Non fiction books

I am learning to describe the features of a non-fiction text.

The book ‘The Biggest Land Animal” is a non-fiction text. I know it is non-fiction because:

Photos What type of pictures are in this book?	Real pictures of true things.
Index What does the index tell us?	Tells us what is in the book and where to find them.
Glossary What does the glossary tell us?	What the words are in the book.
Why do we read non-fiction books?	So we can learn about real true things.
What have you learnt from reading this book?	Lots about elephants.

It was easy to talk about non fiction books because I know a lot about them.

Adding detail

I am learning to add some detail to my writing.

Lolly the Whale

One windy day in the ocean lived a happy whale called Lolly. Lolly has a friend called Polly. They were friends together. One day they were swimming together doing nothing and last night they were breathing up in the sky. They were happy.

It is easy to add detail to my story. It tells people more about my story. I like it.
