How to grow lettuce

Reflection
I am learning to write an explanation writing. It was tricky to make it interesting because I tried really hard to think of some good interesting words. It was easy to think of lots of topic words because our class thought of some topic words together. Next time I could improve by using more topic words and explaining more about why something is good for lettuces so it will grow nice and healthy.

I am learning to skim and scan to find more information in a text. I learnt about the Karearea and Fantail. I worked with a buddy and enjoyed this.

Native New Zealand Birds

Reflection
I am learning about similarities and differences of two native birds. I found it easy because I read the fact sheets. Next I could do some more research to find out other things. 

The Strangest Morning

Reflection
In this activity I was learning to write a narrative poem. I found it easy to think of rhymes because I know lots of rhymes. It was tricky to think of short sentences.  Next time I can improve on making it sound more interesting because it doesn't sound very interesting.

EPS sorting activity

Reflection
In this activity I am learning to sort the EPS values in the right place. It was easy to sort them in the right place because I know what most of them go in.  It was tricky to do some of them because I couldn't really remember where they go. This term I could practice more on responsibility by picking up rubbish and putting things back in the right place if there put in the wrong place.

In this activity I am learning to actively seek to extend my knowledge of new vocabulary. I found tricky doing the questions because I didn't understand most of it. It was easy to do some of the questions because I understand it. Next time I could do extend more of my vocabulary.

In this activity I was learning to do a food chain.  It was tricky to know who eats who because I didn't know what most of the things are. It was easy to put some in order because I know some of them. Next time I want to do another food chain.

 In this activity my task was to link what I already know with clues from the text to make an inference. It was tricky to do some questions because I didn't understand it. Next time I need to keep practicing this.

Incredible insects - Comprehension Questions

Reflection I was learning to answer a range of comprehension questions. I found tricky doing how the giant water bug protects itself because when I searched how the giant water bug protects itself it came up with silly answers.

In this activity my task I was learning to tell the time in five minute intervals. It was easy to do some questions because I understood them. It was tricky to do the first and last question because I did not understand it. Next time I need to practise time.

In this activity I am learning to make connections in story. I found it tricky to make connection in the story. It was easy to speak because no one talked and disturbed me.  I found it tricky to talk to the screen because I kept looking at a whiteboard to see the words.  Next time I could make more connections.

 In this activity my task was to use place value in maths problems. It was easy to add the ten plus tens because they were small numbers. It was tricky to add the hundred plus a hundreds because they were very big numbers.

Reflection In this activity I was learning to make graphic plan for writing an explanation. I found it easy because we used pictures to help remember the steps.

Reflection
In this activity I learnt about flying fungi.  I enjoyed watching a link about photosynthesis is.  I found tricky typing in the answer for photosynthesis.  Next time I need to find and summarise in the text.

Sort living things and non-living things

Reflection In this activity my task was to sort living things and non-living things. I found it easy sorting all the things with a buddy. I found it tricky to think about where to put the mushroom in the right place because I don't know if it's dead or not.

In this activity my task was to use strategies to make my writing more interesting. I enjoyed  putting a simile, onomatopoeia and adjectives in my writing book. Next time I could work on using some of these in other writing.

What is a habitat

Reflection
In this activity my task was to learn about habitats. We talked as a class about habitats and I worked with a buddy to come up with a definition. Next time I want to know more about different habitats.

 In this activity my task was to justify simple inferences.  It was easy to find the clues for some  things but I didn't understand all of them. Next time I need to keep working on inferencing.

In this activity my task was to put digit place value. I enjoyed answering the questions. Next time I can Improve by doing more place value.

In this activity my task was to make tapa. I enjoyed dying it with brown dye. Next time I wan't to make it a little more neater.

This is me at Softball Clinic. I was learning how to catch the ball. I enjoyed doing the monkey which was catching the ball.

Room 14's favourite food

Reflection We are learning to do a statistical inquiry.  It was tricky to put it on blog because things kept happening.  It was easy to do the task because we listened to the instructions.   Next time I want to know more about bar graphs and tally charts. I learnt how to do it with a buddy.

Bio poem

Reflection. 
I enjoyed finding the font I liked because there was so much and I liked the lobster font.  I found it tricky finding the pictures.  I was learning to write a Bio poem.  I learnt how to write a Bio poem about my self. I need to remember to use the word and not a comma when there is the last word.

Blog welcome post

Welcome to my year 4 blog.  This year I am in Room 14 with Mrs Prendergast.  I enjoy doing our brain break and our reading because there fun.  This year I am looking forward in getting 70 ticks and more rewards and doing lots of lovely art because I want my brain to do more learning because it is important for our brain.  I hope you will enjoy my blog and leave lots of feedback.
